Product Description

Drill bit, or masonry drill bit, is a cutting tool that can remove material and produce a hole by rotating it. Drill bits come in many sizes and shapes that have been standardized (in both metric and imperial units). Their cross-section is almost always circular, although some specialized drill bits can produce holes with non-circular cross-sections.

Common materials for masonry drill bit include low carbon steel, high carbon steel, high speed steel, cobalt steel, tungsten carbide, polycrystalline diamond, etc. Surface coatings include black oxide, titanium nitride (TiN), titanium aluminum nitride (TiAlN), titanium carbonitride (TiCN), and diamond powder.

Masonry drill bit can be divided into two categories: one is drilling tools such as flat drills, twist drills, center drills, and deep hole drills, and the other is reaming drill bits such as countersinks and reaming drills. The outer diameter of the spiral cobalt drill bits used in construction projects is between 400 and 600 mm and the length is between 12 and 8 meters. Flat-bottomed cobalt drill bits are used for loose soil layers, rake drill and bits are used for miscellaneous fill layers, and barrel drill and bits are used for obstacles such as concrete and stone.

Twist Drill Bit

The twist drill bit is the most common type of drill in production today. It consists of a cutting point at the tip of a cylindrical shaft with a spiral groove that uses a helical mechanism to rotate the cuttings around the axis of rotation and remove the chips from the hole. Twist cobalt drill bits are available in diameters from 0.002 to 3.5 inches (0.051 to 88.900 mm) and lengths up to 25.5 inches (650 mm).
